The experts here at Urban Survival Network have come together to assemble this check list of items you’ll need for scavenging in a WROL situation. We want to make it very clear that we’re not talking about looting (stealing other people goods), scavenging unlike theft is to search through refuse for useful material. In a long term post SHTF environment, there will be countless abandoned/destroyed structures and vehicles in which useful materials could be extracted from. In order to access these materials and move them back to your retreat, the following items below will surely come in handy.
So what is an Earthquake?
An earthquake is one of natures most destructive phenomena, it can strike at any time without warning. It may never happen in your life time, or it can occur right now while reading this article. Earthquakes are the result of friction from tectonic plates as they shift and release tension along their fault lines. Earthquakes can happen anywhere in the world but are most common along the edges of the Pacific ocean. If you live along the coast of the Pacific Ocean it would be wise to plan and prepare a kit for an earthquake as the chances of it occurring in your locality is significantly higher.
There is a war on our constitutional rights, and unless you stand and up and fight for our freedoms, we are doomed to slavery. It’s our duty as Americans to protect this country from a tyrannical government.
Making a bug out bag? Perfect, because here’s a check list of items we recommend for your urban survival B.O.B. for a short term disaster (several weeks at most). Depending on where you live you’ll want to make some changes, for instance if you live in a dessert you might want to consider having a brimmed hat and a winter toque if you’re living up north. Depending on climate and what’s legal, this checklist will have to be modified to best suit your urban survivalist needs.

Surviving the end of the world in a city will require skills slightly different from the skills required to survive in the country side. When SHTF in the city… you’re going to see a lot of death and chaos, it won’t be a pretty sight. More than anything, you’ll need your wits and a calm, clear mind which can be achieved when you’ve become competent with the skills required to face the challenges ahead. Here’s a list of the top 10 skills you’ll most likely need:
Sh#t can hit the fan can happen at any moment, while you’re at store shopping for groceries, while in your car driving to work, or perhaps while you’re enjoying a walk in the park. If you care about your family and own personal survival, you’ll want to take your EDC seriously. For those who don’t know, EDC is short for Every Day Carry (the items you carry with you when going out). This list is of course on top of all the normal standard things you would carry such as house keys and your wallet with various identification cards.
Having a good understanding of tactical hand signals amongst your urban survival group will be a force multiplier when SHTF. Being able to communicate silently amongst each other will be critical to staying alive and taking out the enemy. Share this information with other members in your group and set a due date to have these tactical hand signals memorized. Once everyone in your group have these signals memorized it’s important that you go out and train/practice these until they’ve become internal/automatic. It will only require a few hours to memorize so you have no excuse to not study these, they could save a life one day. Add this to your list of urban survival skills you need to develop, you’ll be glad you did.
Even if you’re an advanced prepper, it’s very likely that there’s something you’re forgetting to stockpile. Post SHTF that item you forgot to get could mean life or death… or just cause a lot of misery. The whole purpose of having a stockpile of barter items is that you’ll be able to acquire that missing item through trade post SHTF if need be. Not only will the items below be useful for your own survival, but they’ll be items that will quickly disappear from the shelves of stores everywhere and so people will be in need of them. Some of these items can be expensive so be sure to only purchase these items while they’re on sale or you find a good deal on them.
